Inflatable Mascot Celebrates High Times at Outside Lands Music Festival
Custom Inflatable Mascot Makes an Impact at Music Festival
Famous worldwide for its all-star lineup, Outside Lands Music Festival draws thousands of music lovers annually to its three-day extravaganza at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. This past year’s event was no exception, attracting as many as 220,000 visitors between August 5 and 7, 2022.
In short, it was a resounding success. And Landmark Creations was in the thick of it all, along with our client, Iron Bloom Creative Production.
According to Creative Associate Emmie Finckel, Iron Bloom provides “holistic creative and production services including consultation, ideation, design, management, and implementation for live experiences.”
For Outside Lands 2022, the Brooklyn-based studio faced a unique challenge: Could they furnish a giant inflatable mascot for Grass Lands, a separate section of the festival grounds offering a “curated cannabis experience”?
This was to be a very special inflatable, depicting Theodore “Teddy” Okey – colloquially known as Tokey – Grass Lands’ iconic teddy-bear park ranger.
Iron Bloom turned to Landmark Creations. And Landmark came through with gusto.
Our expert design-build team created a towering 10-foot Tokey, complete with bushy mustache and realistic ranger hat. Authentic in every detail, the custom inflatable replica warmly welcomed visitors to the Grass Lands experience.
“Tokey was a beacon and photo-op for visitors to Grass Lands,” Emmie Finckel reports, “and his visage was featured on other assets around the area.”
Why did Iron Bloom choose Landmark to build their inflatable mascot? According to Finckel, “Landmark was recommended to us by the folks at Pneuhaus Inflatables.” And the rest is festival history!
