Inflatable Stage Prop Steals the Show at Perth Amboy High School
"Aladdin" Thrills Audiences with the Help of an Inflatable Stage Prop
If you were one of the lucky ones who attended Perth Amboy High School's production of "Aladdin," you saw firsthand the magical transformation of the evil Jafar into a wicked cobra right before your eyes. How could a high school afford such elaborate stage props? Because Jafar isn't the only one capable of a little magic!
In order to complete Jafar's conversion, Brian Wilson (Technical Director for the play) needed something that could "appear" in a matter of seconds and that operated quietly. To accomplish this, we custom designed this inflatable wildlife replica for maximum airflow, so it could spring to life almost instantly.
The next challenge to tackle was reducing the noise from the blower system that keeps the inflatable filled with air. To minimize the sound, we installed a 10-foot extension hose that led to the blower, which was located out of earshot. When the prop was no longer needed, the blower was simply turned off and it rapidly deflated on its own.
A combination of price and helpfulness were what let Wilson know Landmark Creations was the company for him. "[Landmark was] the cheapest company that we found. They also had exactly what we were looking for and were able to work with us to change the color of the snake from brown to a red and black design." Abracadabra! Works like a charm.
